A total of 19 Major League Soccer players — plus another out on loan — headed over to Russia to represent their countries in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Some will play starting roles for their teams, others will be ready to come off the bench at a moment’s notice and one already was sent home with an injury.
Costa Rica and Panama are the two national teams featuring the most MLS players, but Egypt, Peru, Sweden and Mexico also are represented. Pro Soccer USA will post more in-depth features on each of these players ahead of their debut matches in the World Cup. Read on to get to know them all:
