LYON, France — The United States and England held their prematch news conferences Sunday.
Coach Jill Ellis and striker Alex Morgan spoke on behalf of the U.S., followed about an hour later by England coach Phil Neville and captain Steph Houghton. The teams will play in a 2019 Women’s World Cup semifinal at 3 p.m. ET Tuesday at Stade de Lyon. Sweden and Netherlands will play in the second semifinal the next day. The winners will advance to the July 7 final, which also will be played in Lyon.
