ORLANDO, Fla. — U.S. men’s national team star Christian Pulisic will be part of the roster called up for a friendly against Ecuador at Orlando City Stadium, a source confirmed to Pro Soccer USA.
The match, which will be played at 8 p.m. on March 21, will be new USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter’s third at the helm. It’ll be the first time he has access to the entire U.S. player pool because the match falls during a FIFA international window.
The full roster will be announced on Tuesday.
Pulisic, 20, enjoyed success the last time he played at Orlando City Stadium. He scored a goal in the eighth minute of a 4-0 victory over Panama during World Cup qualifying, then added an assist 11 minutes later.
Pulisic, who currently plays for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund, has recently struggled with injuries, but he was a substitute in the 79th minute for Dortmund in a 3-1 victory over VfB Stuttgart Saturday. He scored a goal in stoppage time and had an assist.
He’ll join Premier League side Chelsea this summer. Chelsea signed Pulisic from Dortmund for $73.1 million, a record fee for an American player, then loaned Pulisic back to Dortmund.
Tickets to the match are available via Ticketmaster.com. Orlando City Stadium will not be selling any tickets until the day of the match, which will be the USMNT’s third all-time in Orlando.
