U.S. Soccer released the new home and away kits for the national teams on Wednesday, showcasing the two designs that both teams will wear throughout 2020.
The women’s team will debut the dark kit for the first time on March 5 during the team’s SheBelieves Cup matchup against England in Orlando. The women’s side will then wear the white kit for the first time when the team takes on Spain at Red Bull Arena three days later.
The men’s team will first wear the new kits during a European tour in March when the team faces the Netherlands on March 26 and Wales four days later.
The new kits feature several updates to the classic look. Following the team’s win in France last summer, the jerseys for the women’s team will feature four white stars over the crest to highlight the team’s four World Cup victories. This will replace the gold “Celebration Star” which was previously positioned above the crest for jerseys released directly after the 2019 World Cup.
The Nike Futura logo will also replace the swoosh that previously emblazoned the jerseys.
The light kit will feature small red and blue details on the cuffs and sides and the letters “USA” on the back of the collar. The dark kit will feature several different shades of dark blue to represent abstract shapes of the 50 states, with the moniker “States” on the outside collar in red.
Although they have yet to be released for sale, the kits will be available in women’s, mens and youth sizes at store.ussoccer.com at a future date. The jersey release will also be accompanied by new fanwear and merchandise.
