SANFORD, Fla. — U.S. women’s national team and Orlando Pride goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris received treatment on Tuesday for a knee injury that caused her to miss the club’s match against the Utah Royals.

Harris suffered a left knee injury during warm-ups ahead of Saturday’s match. When asked if there was an update regarding Harris, Pride coach Marc Skinner said, “Not really.”

“I think she’ll be fine,” Skinner said. “It was a kind of unexpected knock in the warm-up. She’ll be fine. She’s getting treatment at the minute, but then she should be fine if selected for the World Cup to go away and be successful with that.”

Harris was not present for the portion of Pride training open to reporters. Forward Alex Morgan was there. So was right back Ali Krieger. Morgan is considered a lock to make the World Cup squad, while Krieger was recently called up to the USWNT.

U.S. internationals were released by their NWSL clubs after the weekend’s league matches.

Former Sky Blue player training with Orlando

Midfielder Katy Freels, who played three seasons with Sky Blue FC before sitting out the 2016 season, was present for the Pride’s training session on Tuesday.

Freels hasn’t played since the 2015 season. In three seasons with Sky Blue, she started 54 matches and scored 11 goals to go with 12 assists. A Pride spokeswoman said Freels is local.

Skinner initially suggested she might be a World Cup replacement player option, but a source confirmed she can’t serve as a replacement player and will be limited to participating in training.

Freels was working alongside forward Danica Evans and midfielder Camila before the start of the Pride’s training session.

“They’re doing a little bit of extra fitness because I think it’s really, really important that you are ready and fit and ready to go into this team. The one thing I won’t accept in this team is people not ready to come and pull their part for the full 90. Because I think before, we’ve kind of put up with players in this club and we’ve allowed them to do little bits and pieces and be that little part player, where actually, I want everybody ready to go.

“I’m adamant about that and I will be adamant about that. If you want to be on this team, you’ve got to, one, be fit enough, and you’ve got to give everything to be in this team and that’s what I’m going to expect.”
