After winning their second-straight championship in the National Women’s Soccer League, the North Carolina Courage are turning to their fans for advice.
The club announced Tuesday that it will allow supporters of the club to choose the design of its rings commemorating its 2019 NWSL championship.
Beginning Thursday, fans of the Courage will be able to go to www.WinTheRing.com to vote on which ring design from Charles & Colvard is the best. The jewelry company is based in Morrisville, North Carolina and is a sponsor of the club.
Each fan that votes will be entered into a contest, and the winner will receive a championship ring, free on-field tickets to the Courage’s 2020 home opener and a $300 gift certificate to Charles & Colvard. Voting will remain open until Feb. 9.
“Charles & Colvard is the perfect partner as we work collaboratively to create our 2019 NWSL Championship rings for the Courage,” Courage general manager Curt Johnson said in a statement. “Last year’s championship ring was outstanding, and I’m thrilled about the chance to work with our terrific fans on what this year’s ring looks like thanks to this one-of-a-kind opportunity with Charles & Colvard.”
Coached by Paul Riley, the Courage captured their third-straight NWSL Supporters’ Shield and their second-straight league championship in 2019, beating the Chicago Red Stars 4-0 on their home turf at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina.
“It is our honor and privilege to again celebrate the successes and dedication of the back-to-back NWSL champions with a commemorative moissanite championship ring,” Charles & Colvard CEO Suzanne Miglucci said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see which brilliant design the fans select for their champions.”
