Get used to seeing those swooshes on the kits of National Women’s Soccer League players.
The league extended its partnership with Nike through the end of the 2022 season. Nike has been the exclusive worldwide partner for NWSL gear and apparel since the league began in 2013, and the current deal was set to expire at the end of this season.
“Having Nike’s continued support behind NWSL and our athletes demonstrates our shared commitment to elevating professional soccer in the United States,” NWSL president Amanda Duffy said in a statement released Friday. “The relationship with Nike aligns with our goals to strengthen the level of competition, as well as to support and develop female athletes as they to continue to train and play at the highest level.”
Nike is also the maker and seller of the U.S. women’s national team kits. After the World Cup, the U.S. home jersey became Nike’s bestseller.

Since the World Cup, the league has also struck a sponsorship deal with Budweiser and a broadcast partnership with ESPN.
“We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with the NWSL to create even more opportunities to champion female athletes in their pursuit of greatness,” Michelle Lobo, the general manager for Nike Soccer North America, said in a statement. “We are committed to helping to grow the game and are proud to continue the partnership, both in support of players and a growing fan base.”
