HOUSTON — Rachel Daly has agreed to a new contract with the Houston Dash, the club announced Tuesday.
The England international has been a key member of Houston’s offense since she joined the Dash in 2016 after being selected sixth overall in the 2016 NWSL College Draft.
Daly was tied for the club lead with five goals last season, the third consecutive year she’s led the Dash in scoring. The 28-year-0ld forward has 24 goals for Houston in 74 appearances.
“We are extremely happy to have Rachel back and excited to help her continue her development and success on and field,” Dash coach James Clarkson said in a statement.
Known for her passion on the field, Daly has become a fan-favorite. She is hoping to guide the Dash to the NWSL postseason for the first time in the 2020 season.
“The Dash is an unbelievable club and I feel like I have unfinished business here,” Daly said. “The best is yet to come and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
The Harrogate, England native has been capped 29 times and featured for England at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where the team reached the semifinal. Daly, who was a standout collegiately at St. John’s University, has scored three goals internationally, while splitting time between forward and outside back.
