LA Galaxy striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has another accolade to tout: For the second consecutive year, he tops the list of best-selling Major League Soccer jerseys, the league announced Wednesday.
Reigning MLS Golden Boot winner Josef Martinez of Atlanta United has the second-best seller. Los Angeles FC striker Carlos Vela is third on the list, followed by D.C. United striker Wayne Rooney in fourth and Chicago Fire midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger in fifth.
Of the top 25 best-selling jerseys, eight belong to United States men’s national team players: Jordan Morris and Cristian Roldan of Seattle Sounders FC; Chris Wondolowski of the San Jose Earthquakes; Sebastien Lletget of the Galaxy; goalkeeper Brad Guzan of Atlanta; Dom Dwyer of Orlando City SC; Jozy Altidore of Toronto FC; and Graham Zusi of Sporting Kansas City.
Fifteen of the 24 MLS clubs are represented in the top 25, though the Sounders lead with four jerseys: Morris, Roldan, Raul Ruidiaz, and Nicolas Lodeiro.
The rankings are based on overall retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com since the beginning of 2019 and through the end of the 2019 MLS regular season.
