Watch: Portland Timbers’ game-winner against Seattle Sounders

The Portland Timbers beat the Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Mother’s Day, scoring a goal in the 86th minute. Sebastián Blanco raced through defenders to receive a through-pass from teammate Samuel Armenteros and chip it over Seattle goalkeeper Stefan Frei for the game-winner.

Portland is now fourth in the Western Conference standings. Seattle remains in last place. The Timbers (4-3-2, 14 points) outshot Seattle (2-52, 8 points) 10-5 in the match, but had just two shots on goal compared to the Sounders’ one. Possession was nearly equal. You can see Blanco’s goal in the video above, review match stats here or relive the action in pictures below. Check back soon for a full match recap.
