Atlanta United’s Josef Martinez finished off a header to score his league-leading 14th goal of the season and immediately fell to the pitch after knocking heads with Columbus Crew midfielder Artur.
The goal put Atlanta up 1-0 in the 30th minute of Wednesday night’s match against the Crew, and the team went on to win the match 2-0 after an 82nd-minute goal from Hector Villalba. But Martinez came off at halftime, replaced by Romario Williams.
Atlanta goalkeeper coach Aaron Hyde provided a brief update on Martinez during the halftime television broadcast, and Martinez seemed to be doing well after the game as he posed for a selfie with fans.
