LOS ANGELES — New Sporting Kansas City signing Alan Pulido has only been in Kansas City for a few weeks, but he’s already learned to embrace the local culture by supporting the other football team in town.

The striker attended the AFC West Divisional game between the Chiefs and the Texans last weekend, toughing it out on a freezing Sunday to watch the team pull off a double-digit comeback victory to advance in the playoffs.

“It was a great game, a really great game,” Pulido said through a translator. “I enjoy other sports and even though it was very cold, it was great.”

Pulido said that he was a longstanding fan of the NFL and joked it would be difficult to score more goals than Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The two teams have a long history of supporting each other. Mahomes turned out to cheer on Sporting Kansas City last year during the 2018 Western Conference championship, leading the “I Believe” chant from the stands.
