Toronto’s task was far from easy. To go down to Guadalajara and defeat the home team at least 2-1 was near impossible, some said. But Toronto did it, before falling 4-3 in penalties Wednesday and watching Chivas lift the Concacaf Champions League trophy as the Mexican side earned a bid to the FIFA Club World Cup.

Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco scored for TFC for the necessary 2-1 victory in regulation to that tied the series at 3-3 in aggregate and forced the penalty shootout. Relive the action, celebration and heartbreak through the pictures above.
