The Philadelphia Union have locked down their top scorer for at least one more season.
The club announced Thursday forward Kacper Przybylko’s team option for the 2020 season will be picked up.
“From the moment we signed Kacper, he has worked incredibly hard to become a key contributor to our team,” Union sporting director Ernst Tanner said. “Exercising his option was an easy decision for us as we continue to plan for 2020 and beyond while also aiming to finish 2019 strong.”
The Union also hold a club option on the striker’s deal for the 2021 campaign.
The 26-year-old signed with the Eastern Conference club last September, but did not see the field for the first team until April.
In 21 matches, the German-born Polish forward has 12 goals, including three in his last four appearances. He also has three assists in MLS play this season, and has netted three goals in two games with Philadelphia’s USL Championship affiliate, Bethlehem Steel FC.
