Toronto FC’s Jonathan Osorio and Montreal Impact’s Samuel Piette headline Canada’s January roster that is loaded with Major League Soccer players.
Five players, including Russell Teibert and Tosaint Ricketts, represent the Vancouver Whitecaps, while six Toronto FC players and three members of the Impact squad are in John Herdman’s latest squad.

The Orlando City duo of Kamal Miller and Tesho Akindele were also named to the side that will play a trio of matches from Jan. 7-15.
“It’s a great way to start the year with three international matches and the opportunity to work with 26 players, including players who are new to the men’s national team or have been on our radar in 2019,” Herdman said in a press release.
“Outside of the FIFA window, it is a difficult period to assemble players due to club and off-season commitments, but this gives us the opportunity to introduce young players who we have monitored throughout 2019 and have continued to impress at the club or international level,” Herdman said.
