A new-look Orlando City roster will open 2019 with a brand-new home kit.
The club unveiled its new #BringTheNoise kit on Friday during an event at the Lion’s Pride pub alongside its 2019 “Face of City” class.
The kit “takes inspiration from the trademark noise and energy City fans bring to every game at Orlando City Stadium. This is symbolized by a soundwave-like geometric pattern on the new jersey,” according to the club. It does away with the collar of the old primary kit, as well as with the three yellow stripes on the shoulders of the old kit.
Other small touches include “defend the fortress,” written on the back neckline and the jock tag on the bottom left corner of the jersey, which honors “the club’s pride for the city of Orlando and its home state of Florida.” The graphic on the tag has an outline of the state of Florida, with a star where Orlando is located. The words “city beautiful” are on the bottom of the graphic.
“We are proud to introduce the new jersey alongside our supporters and new Face of City class. We couldn’t have selected a more passionate group of fans to be the faces of our Club in 2019,” Orlando City SC senior VP of marketing and brand Pedro Franklin de Araujo said in a statement. “From the loud noise to the electric atmosphere they create in our stadium, the new kit was designed with our supporters in mind. We want our players to be constantly reminded of their energy and passion on the field.”
The kits are now available for purchase locally at The Den, the team’s official store located in Orlando City Stadium, and at Lion’s Pride Pub. They’re also available for purchase on MLSStore.com.
Along with the kit, Orlando City launched its CITY iD collectible patch program. The first 500 fans to purchase the new home kit at The Den or Lion’s Pride will receive a patch, and season ticket holders will also receive an exclusive patch. Those patches are per-seat.
