The MLS Disciplinary Committee issued an additional one game suspension to Orlando City midfielder Sacha Kljestan after reviewing the red card he picked up against the Philadelphia Union Wednesday.
Kljestan will sit out Saturday’s home match against the Columbus Crew.
The suspension, however, will not affect his availability for the team’s U.S. Open Cup match Wednesday against New York City FC.
The MLS also issued Kljestan a fine, but the league did not disclose the amount.
The original suspension stemmed from a red card foul in the 67th minute of the Lions’ first game against the Philadelphia Union Wednesday. The referee showed Kljestan a straight red after he missed the ball completely and went studs up into the ankle of Jamiro Monteiro. The foul left Orlando City at a two-man disadvantage during its 3-1 loss to the Union.
Kljestan did not play against in the rematch the Union Sunday, serving the first portion of his two-game suspension.
He will be available for selection when Orlando City plays at Portland July 18.
