SANFORD, Fla. — Orlando City – once again – is dealing with injuries to key contributors.
Midfielder Uri Rosell, who turned in a solid performance against the Houston Dynamo, is dealing with an ankle injury. He suffered the injury in the 67th minute of the Lions’ 0-0 draw against the Dynamo. Rosell was present for the media portion of Wednesday’s training session but trained to the side. He’d missed several days of training following the match against the Dynamo.
Orlando City takes on FC Dallas on the road on Saturday.
“We’ll have to see how Uri is as to whether he’s going to be back in time for the Dallas game,” Orlando City coach James O’Connor said.
Goalkeeper Adam Grinwis is battling an infection, O’Connor said. Grinwis was the starter for Orlando City’s match against the Dynamo and had three saves to help the Lions record just their second clean sheet of the season. The match was Grinwis’ MLS debut.
“We’re trying to analyze as to how quickly he could come back and how safe it is for him and is it contagious and all that,” O’Connor said. “For him, it’s come at probably the worst possible time, obviously, having had the performance that he had in his MLS debut. We’re waiting to see on that.”
Midfielder Pierre Da Silva – a young player fans have wanted to see get match minutes with the season winding down – is battling a knee injury, O’Connor said.
“It looks like he’s going to be out for a decent amount of time with his knee,” O’Connor said.
