The Brazilian club Corinthians announced the organization completed a transaction, selling midfielder Júnior Urso to Orlando City.
Due to club policy, Orlando City officials stated they could not comment on the acquisition on Monday. The team does not discuss players until their contracts have been signed and transfer paperwork is completed.
The 30-year-old made 27 appearances in Série A with Corinthians last season, notching three goals in that time. He previously played in the Brazilian Série and PA1 leagues and in the Chinese Super League. In 10 seasons, Urso has netted 27 goals and added 14 assists.
Urso is the third midfielder the Lions have signed since hiring Óscar Pareja as head coach, joining youngsters David Loera and Andrés Parea. As a midfielder who specializes in the defensive and central zones of the field, Urso would offer a veteran link between the backline and the attacking front.
