When the 2018 MLS All-Stars take on Juventus at Mercedes-Benz Stadium Aug. 1, it might feel a lot like an Atlanta United FC game.
The game will be played in Atlanta, of course, Gerardo “Tata” Martino will be on the sideline as head coach and at least six Atlanta players will be on the 24-man roster.
Major League Soccer released fan voting results for the game Monday, and the 2018 All-Star Fan XI is dominated by the Five Stripes.
Here is the full All-Star Fan XI:
Goalkeeper: Brad Guzan (Atlanta United)
Defenders: Michael Parkhurst (Atlanta United), Laurent Ciman (Los Angeles Football Club), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
Midfielders: Miguel Almirón (Atlanta United), Ezequiel Barco (Atlanta United), Darlington Nagbe (Atlanta United), Diego Valeri (Portland Timbers)
Forwards: Josef Martínez (Atlanta United), Zlatan Ibrahimović (LA Galaxy), Carlos Vela (LAFC)
Guzan leads MLS in wins for goalkeepers this season. Parkhurst — now a six-time all-star — has appeared in every game for Atlanta United, helping the club notch four clean sheets. Ciman has scored three goals and helped LAFC capture five clean sheets this season. Like Parkhurst, this will also be the sixth all-star game for Zusi, who has led SKC to seven clean sheets.
It’s the second all-star game for Almiron, the first for 19-year-old Barco, the third for Nagbe and the fourth for Valeri. Almiron has six goals and seven assists this season and is an early MVP candidate. Barco has three goals in 12 appearances for Atlanta, and Nagbe leads MLS in passing accuracy with a 92 percent mark. Valeri has tallied six goals and three assists this season.
Martinez is the leader in the MLS Golden Boot race with 14 goals, four of which were game-winners. International superstar Ibrahimović has notched seven goals and three assists in 11 MLS appearances. Vela, currently playing with the Mexican national team at the World Cup, has seven goals and five assists for LAFC this season.
The full roster for the all-star match will be announced at a later date. Of the remaining 13 roster spots, Martino will select 11 players and MLS Commissioner Don Garber will select two players.
