Los Angeles Football Club loaned Tristan Blackmon to Phoenix Rising FC, according to an LAFC press release. Blackmon was the third overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft and has appeared in nine matches for the club this season.
Blackmon’s most recent appearance was in LAFC’s 2-0 loss to Sporting Kansas City on August 11, where he played the entire 90 minutes for the fifth time this season. He has made five starts and appeared in nine matches in the 2018 season for LAFC.
Blackmon attended the University of the Pacific, where he played all four years, starting the majority of the games each year. During his junior and senior seasons, he was named first team All-Far West Region, as well as first team All-West Coast Conference.
Per the press release, the loan agreement includes a Right of Recall, which means LAFC “retains the right to recall Blackmon at any point during the remainder of the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.”
