Josh Perez’s time with Los Angeles FC has come to an end.
The 22-year-old and the Western Conference side agreed to mutually part ways Friday.
Perez, a Montebello, Calif. native and nephew of former United States men’s national team midfielder Hugo Perez, played for LAFC from 2018-19 and recorded one goal and one assist in 16 games across all competitions.
He first joined LAFC on a free transfer from Italian Serie A side Fiorentina, where he was limited to one competitive appearance from 2016-18. Perez linked up with Fiorentina as a teenager after representing now-defunct Chivas USA’s youth academy from 2011-13.
Fiorentina also sent him on loan to Livorno (2017-18) in Italy’s second tier Serie B, where he played 22 games.
Perez went on a pair of loan stints to the USL Championship’s Phoenix Rising in each of his two seasons with LAFC.
At the international level, Perez has represented the United States U-17, U-19, U-20 and U-23 men’s national teams.
