LA Galaxy forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic was fined by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for being “in violation of the league’s policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent,” according to a statement released by the league Wednesday.
The amount of the fine was not disclosed.
In the 18th minute of Friday’s El Trafico 1-1 draw against LAFC, Ibrahimovic touched the face of midfielder Lee Nguyen during a confrontation on the field. He was not issued a card for the infraction.
Nguyen took to social media following the match to condemn Ibrahimovic’s actions:

The disciplinary committee also issued an undisclosed fine to Real Salt Lake midfielder Damir Kreilach for the same violation. He touched the neck of a Colorado Rapids player during the their match Saturday.
The final, and most intriguing, disciplinary decision Wednesday was an undisclosed fine for Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Cristian Techera, who was “found guilty of defacing the field of play” during his a match against the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday.
Techera used his cleats to ruffle the grass around the penalty spot, just before Earthquakes midfielder Magnus Eriksson was about to take a penalty kick.
