The LA Galaxy decided to bolster its attack Friday during the first two rounds of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft in Chicago. The Galaxy selected midfielder Emil Cuello from Southern Methodist University with the 19th overall pick and Oregon State forward Don Tchilao with pick No. 36.

The Galaxy initially had the 12th pick overall in the draft, but traded that to New York City FC in exchange for the 19th pick and $75,000 in General Allocation Money.

Cuello, 22, was born in Orem, Utah, and had a four-year career with SMU. In college, he earned American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team honors his freshman year, Most Outstanding Offensive Player his junior year, and First Team All-American Athletic Conference honors his senior season, as well as tournament MVP his senior season.

Tchilao, also 22, had a four-year career at Oregon State. He notched 15 goals and 13 assists in 71 appearances, and in his senior year, he made 20 starts with seven goals and nine assists. Tchilao earned Second Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2017 and First Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2018.
