Five LA Galaxy players have been called up national-team duty. Sebastian Lletget (United States), Uriel Antuna (Mexico), Efraín Álvarez (Mexico under-17), Rolf Feltscher (Venezuela) and Giancarlo González (Costa Rica) all will represent their countries during this FIFA international window that takes place between the end of Major League Soccer’s regular season and the start of the MLS Cup playoffs.
Lletget, Antuna and Gonzalez will join their national teams for Concacaf Nations League games. The U.S. men’s national team faces Cuba Oct. 11 and Canada Oct. 15. Mexico mets Bermuda Oct. 11 and Panama Oct. 15, and Costa Rica plays Haiti Oct. 10 and Curacao Oct. 13. Venezuela has two international friendlies within the window: Oct. 10 against Bolivia and Oct. 14 versus Trinidad and Tobago.
Alvarez joins Mexico’s U-17 men’s national team as it heads to the U-17 World Cup in Argentina. Mexico begins Group F play Oct. 28 against Paraguay. Their other group matches are Oct. 31 against Italy and Nov. 11 against the Solomon Islands. Alvarez will remain with the team for as long as it continues in the tournament. The U-17 World Cup final is scheduled for Nov. 17.
Four of the five players, all except Alvarez, are expected to return in time for the Galaxy’s playoff match at Minnesota United Oct. 20.
