LA Galaxy announce roster moves; decline Servando Carrasco’s option

Servando Carrasco and Uriel Antuna are among those who will not return to the Galaxy in 2020.

The LA Galaxy have announced their roster decisions ahead of the 2020 season and currently sit with 15 players on their roster.

Servando Carrasco’s option were among those that were declined by the Galaxy on Thursday. The 31-year-old defensive midfielder — who is married to USWNT star Alex Morgan — appeared in 37 games for the Galaxy over the past two seasons.

Midfielder Uriel Antuna will not be returning with the club, as his loan from Manchester City has expired.

Contract options were also declined for Diego Polenta, Favio Alvarez, Juninho, Joao Pedro, Tomas Hilliard-Arce, Matt Lampson and Hugo Arellano. As previously announced, forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Chris Pontius join the list of players who will not be returning to the Galaxy next season.

The club exercised options on the contracts of Cristian Pavon, Rolf Feltscher, Emil Cuello, and Justin Vom Steeg, who will be joining the 11 other players still under contract for the Galaxy. Also, the Galaxy announced that contract negotiations are still underway for Romain Alessandrini, Diego Polenta and Daniel Steres.

Midfielders: Jonathan Dos Santos, Sebastian Lletget, Perry Kitchen, Joe Corona, Efrain Alvarez, Emil Cuello

Forwards: Cristian Pavon, Ethan Zubak
