The Los Angeles Galaxy made its first major player personnel decisions of the offseason Monday, exercising four contract options while declining eight.
Midfielder Sebastian Lletget, defender Daniel Steres, midfielder Bradford Jamieson IV and goalkeeper Justin Vom Steeg all had their options picked up for the 2019 season.
Meanwhile, left back Ashley Cole headlines the octet of players whose options were declined. Defenders Michael Ciani, Sheanon Williams and Rolf Feltscher, plus midfielders Baggio Husidic and Servando Carrasco also had their options declined, along with goalkeeper Brian Sylvestre.
In addition, midfielders Chris Pontius and Emmanuel Boateng and defender Dave Romney are all out of contract, though the club announced Monday new contract negotiations are already underway with each player.
Twelve players were already under contract for the 2019 season before Monday’s announcement. The 2019 LA Galaxy roster as of Monday, Nov. 26 is comprised of 16 players:
