Former LA Galaxy defender and captain Ashley Cole has joined Derby County, currently in the English Championship.

Cole had 86 appearances for the Galaxy over his three years with the club. At the time of this article, the Galaxy had not yet issued a statement regarding Cole’s departure.

“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to secure Ashley’s services for the rest of the season,” said Derby County manager Frank Lampard in a statement from the club. “He’s a fantastic player, a quality left-back, and he also brings great experience to the dressing room. I know him very well from our time together at Chelsea, and with England, and I also know what he can bring to the group and the influence he will have.”

This is a developing story. Check back soon for more details.
