Weston McKennie has a right adductor injury, forcing him to withdraw from the United States men’s national team ahead of Kickoff Series matches against Colombia and Peru.

McKennie, a midfielder for German side Schalke 04 who scored his first goals in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League last week, will be replaced by Toronto FC’s Marky Delgado.

Delgado debuted for the U.S. March 27 against Paraguay and made his last appearance during the 1-0 win against Mexico Sept. 11.

The roster remains at 23 players after the Philadelphia Union’s Fafa Picault received a call-up last week following injuries to Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams of the New York Red Bulls.

The Kickoff Series begins Thursday night against Colombia at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. FS1, Univision and UDN will broadcast the match. The U.S. then plays Peru Oct. 16 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford, Conn.
