As the MLS Players Association released its annual salary guide Wednesday, many race to see the highest paid player on their respective team. Some teams will have a few millionaires on their roster as the talent level in MLS improves.

However, FC Dallas is not one of those big spending teams. Relying more on Homegrowns and young South American talent, Dallas is ranked 21 out of 24 in total salary spent on players, at $8,730,844 guaranteed compensation. Only one player on FCD is making more than one million dollars, with Ecuadorian international Carlos Gruezo earning $1,025,750.

Many of FCD’s key players are homegrowns not making as much. The trio of academy players – midfielder Paxton Pomykal ($105,000), right back Reggie Cannon ($80,250), and Jesus Ferriera ($70,250) do not come close to the highest-grossing younger homegrown on the roster in Brandon Servania, whose guaranteed compensation is at $211,000, more than Pomykal and Cannon combined.

The new offseason acquisitions sit on higher salaries as TAM players. Forward Zdenek Ondrasek comes in making $522,250, while Designated Player midfielder Bryan Acosta earns $650,000. Bressan, the center back acquired from Gremio, makes $521,931.

The lowest paid player on the roster is homegrown Bryan Reynolds, who makes $70,250.

Another salary of note, forward Cristian Colman, who is rehabbing from his torn ACL, makes $585,000. Colman is still working on his recovery and may be cleared soon with a chance to make a mark on the No. 9 position.
