Watch: Wayne Rooney scores first MLS goal, nutmegs Tim Howard

Wayne Rooney hit another milestone in his storied career Saturday night, scoring his first Major League Soccer goal to help D.C. United beat the Colorado Rapids 2-1 at Audi Field.

Rooney’s goal came in the 33rd minute, when he received a pass from teammate Luciano Acosta and beat a defender just enough to slide his shot through the legs of his former Manchester United teammate, goalkeeper Tim Howard. Acosta and Zoltán Stieber, who played a pass forward to Acosta, were credited with an assist on the play. Watch a replay of the goal in the video above.
