COLUMBUS, Ohio — After an intense game at MAPFRE Stadium in front of a sellout crowd, the “Hell is Real” clash will travel south. FC Cincinnati hosts the Columbus Crew on Aug. 25th. The first match ended in a 2-2 draw Saturday, and passions will be high for both sides to see who will claim the first victory in the newest MLS rivalry.
According to an email sent from the Crew to season ticket holders, “The MLS is putting on a Rivalry Week Event called ‘Standing Room Only’ in Cincinnati to highlight the Hell is Real rivalry between the two clubs.”
The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 24 — the day before the match — from 7-midnight ET at the Woodward Theater in the heart of Cincinnati’s historic Over-the-Rhine district.
“In order to have a good representation from Columbus at the event, the club will be providing complimentary rooms for a limited number of Columbus Crew Supporters for Saturday night only at the Westin Cincinnati,” the email reads.
The event will include contests between Columbus and Cincinnati fans, including a DJ battle, a live illustration battle and a FIFA game between the club’s two eMLS players. There will also be foosball tables, a life-size Lite-Brite installations, a photo booth and free beer.
RSVP is required here. Admission is free on a first come, first served basis.
