The Major League Soccer Players’ Association released its league-wide database of 2019 player salaries on Wednesday. Designated Player Josef Martínez, the 2018 MLS Most Valuable Player and record holder for goals in a single season, is Atlanta United’s highest-paid player. Martínez will make $3,058,333 in guaranteed compensation this season.

The Venezuela international signed a contract extension with Atlanta in the offseason and received a significant raise. Martínez made $1,387,318 last year.

Ezequiel Barco and Gonzalo “Pity” Martínez occupy the Five Stripes’ two remaining Designated Player slots on the roster. Barco makes $1,425,000 in 2019. Pity Martinez earns $900,000.

Captain Michael Parkhurst made $340,008 in Atlanta’s MLS Cup-winning 2018 season and entertained the possibility of signing with a new club in the offseason. Parkhurst eventually came to terms on a new deal with the Five Stripes. The 35-year-old defender makes $300,000 this season.

Dion Pereira is Atlanta’s lowest-paid player at $56,250 in 2019. Julian Gressel, who has not agreed to a new contract with the team, makes $133,000 this year.

Atlanta’s guaranteed compensation for 2019 is $12,670,769, which ranks sixth in MLS and is up from about $10.9 million in 2018. Toronto FC owns MLS’s most expensive roster this year at $22,122,190, per The Athletic. Zlatan Ibrahimoviç is the league’s highest-paid player at $7.2 million.
