We now officially know who Gerardo “Tata” Martino will face on the manager’s return to Atlanta.

The Mexican national team meets Venezuela at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on June 5 in what not only will be Martino’s first game back since helping lead Atlanta United to the 2018 MLS Cup, but could also be a reunion with star forward Josef Martinez.

Martinez, who shattered the record for goals scored in an MLS season, has nine goals in 46 appearances for La Vinotinto. He last joined the team for November friendlies against Japan and Iran.

Last month, Martinez signed a five-year extension with the Five Stripes, just after Martino was officially introduced as Mexico’s new manager.

The match will serve as El Tri’s penultimate 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup tune-up. Mexico faces Chile on March 22 at SDCCU Stadium in San Diego and Paraguay at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara on March 26. Mexico takes on an opponent to be named at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on June 15.
