Atlanta United FC is expecting big crowds for at least six games in the 2020 season.
The club announced a ticket package for fans featuring those six matches on Thursday. For these matches, the top level of seating in Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be open.
Atlanta United has drawn crowds topping 70,000 people several times when it has opened the top level. The club has led MLS in attendance for the past three seasons.
The matches that will be open to full capacity are:
- March 7 vs. FC Cincinnati
- June 20 vs. Philadelphia Union
- July 12 vs. Seattle Sounders
- Aug. 1 vs. NYCFC
- Aug. 16 vs. LAFC
- Sept. 26 vs. Columbus Crew SC
Four of those games will be televised nationally, with ESPN carrying the Union match, FS1 picking up the Sounders game, and ABC broadcasting matches against NYCFC and LAFC. Fox Sports South will broadcast the other two games — Atlanta’s home opener and closer — regionally.
Atlanta United finished with an 18-12-4 record in MLS play in 2019. The Five Stripes also won the U.S. Open Cup, the Campeones Cup, and qualified for the 2020 Concacaf Champions League. They will open training camp on Jan. 11.
The $1.6 billion Mercedes-Benz Stadium opened in 2017. Its attendance record is 78,347 fans, set last weekend by the College Football Playoff Peach Bowl match-up featuring LSU and Oklahoma.
